New Charter School to open in the fall of 2007

The Walden Center Charter School is going to be one of the most unique and rewarding experiences you will ever have in your public education career.

Walden Center staff knows that we will be working with some of the brightest and most creative students in the state.  The staff is committed to providing learning strategies that will lead to the best opportunity for academic and personal success.  We also expect students to be active participants in the creation of their Personal Plan of Progress.

Life at the Walden Center will be challenging but that also comes with some privileges.  The privileges will increase the student’s responsibilities and eventually their level of engagement in the learning process will be much higher then they have ever experienced.  When people are exploring topics that they enjoy or have a vested interest in, they stick with it and learn so much more.  Students are going to be able to choose much of what they want to learn about.

Another component to the Walden Center is the Internship that will be attached to the Career Clusters.   Internships provide the relevance to the learning. Students will have the opportunity to choose and develop projects that can relate to their internships.  This provides for a much deeper level of knowledge into the career they have chosen.

Staff at the Walden Center are here to help you make the most out of your education.   One of our goals is to make sure students are prepared for a variety of experiences which they might face in the future. We all have a sincere desire to make a positive difference in the lives of all the students that walk into our school
