Pratt High School’s Nate Southard and Paul Harris each collected a pair of top 5 finishes at the 2008 Goddard Invitational Friday. Their production along with Bryce Krehbiel and Will Shoup led to 25 points and a 10th place finish in the team competition.

Wichita’s Bishop Carroll won the title by three points, 93-90, over Valley Center. Andover was
third (81). Southard had the busiest day, competing in four events.

He earned third in the 200M (23.73) and 400M 52.40). The final-four finishers were within .70 seconds of one another. Southard ran the 200M preliminary in 24.32. His work in the javelin, a throw of 150-9, captured seventh.

Harris’s 4:55.05 1600M time rewarded him with fourth. In half the distance, 800M, he was fifth in 2:12.19.

Southard, Harris, Shoup, and Krehbiel melded into the 4x400M relay team and ended fifth (344.32). Krehbiel also placed 11th in the 300M hurdles, clocking a 45.04.

Southard: javelin, 7th, 150-9; winner – 161-8;200M, 3rd, 23.73; winner - 23.15; 400M, 3rd, 52.40; winner – 51.77

Harris: 800M, 5th, 2:12.19; winner – 2:06.82; 1600M, 4th, 4:55.05;
winner – 4:45.21

Krehbiel: 300M hurdles, 11th, 45.04; winner – 42.07 4x400M relay: 5th, 3:44.32; winner – 3:31.69
