The Pratt High School varsity volleyball team had a rough
weekend at the Belle Plaine tournament, finishing 2-3 on
Saturday.
PHS started off with two straight wins before dropping their last
three matches of the day.
The Lady Greenbacks beat Attica 25-12, 25-5 to open the tournament
on a good note.
They also got past host Belle Plaine in three games, winning the
first 25-17, losing the second 21-25, and then winning the third
game 25-23.
Wichita Collegiate handed Pratt its first loss of the day, 21-25,
10-25.
The Lady Greenbacks also lost to South Barber 17-25, 27-25, 21-25,
and to Wichita Trinity 27-25, 17-25, 22-25.
“Due to an injury, we had some girls in positions they weren’t used
to,” Pratt coach Dean Rausch said. “We started out well, struggled
against Collegiate, but the last two matches could have gone either
way. We just have to try and get healed up before the
post-season.”
Pratt will play Ulysses and Larned at Larned tomorrow night.
Matches begin at 5 p.m.
The Lady Greenbacks will host Skyline, Chase and Russell next
Tuesday, Oct. 14.
