The Pratt High School Class of 1973 donated $550 for landscaping at the new Pratt High building and challenges other classes to meet or exceed that figure.
At its 35th reunion on Sept. 20 an auction of gift baskets had already netted about $2,000 toward a scholarship the class will award to a graduating senior in its 50th anniversary year. When class member Deb Goyen mentioned landscaping, “the money started coming out,” she said, in 100s, 50s and smaller denominations.
Estimates of $70,000 to nearly $100,000 for a total landscaping package were presented to the Board of Education at its September meeting. It is likely that landscaping will be phased in over time, Superintendent Glen Davis said.
Donations will be managed through the Pratt USD 382 Public School Foundation.
