In spite of the dicey weather in the past couple of weeks. The PHS yearbook and newspaper students braved the elements and journeyed to Hays for the Regional Journalism competition at Fort Hays State University.
These students not only rose to the challenge of the elements, but the competition as well. Overall the students enjoyed the day. In total, PHS qualified 10 students (in 8 categories) who advance to the State competition at KU on May 3rd. Notables include Ana Whitson who qualified in two categories and Hayley Henry who placed 1st.
Results: The judges award 1st, 2nd & 3rd place and three Honorable Mentions (HM). All six spots qualify for state.
