Friday, October 28, 19 members of the Elementary Science club went to the Kansas Aviation Museum in Wichita.  The students were able to get up close and personal with 12 planes on the "Ramp".  They "flew" simulators with big and small planes.  Everyone got to practice just like real pilots in an aircraft simulator!  The students also had lessons in flight, thrust, drag, lift, and gravity, then made gliders. They also made parachutes. The tour of the museum included the first plane made in Wichita, the evolution of the Beech and Cessna airplanes, plus Wichita's work during WWI & WWII.
