Thursday, January 19th, some of the Pratt High student athletes gave a helping hand to Southwest Elementary School. After the recent ice storm, the school had debris covering their front lawn, so the athletes went and picked up branches and set them out for the city to pick up. These PHS boys are great role models for the younger kids at Southwest who look up to them. Even with a lot on their plate, they still made time to put in some hard work to make our community look nicer. Most of these athletes were representing the PHS Basketball team, such as Samson Kohman, Noah Myers, and Bryce Stegman, who step up as team leaders on and off the court. Travis Theis, Brett Winsor, Nate Kolm, Kaden Evert, Landen Studer, Grant Bolen and many other underclassmen helped out as well. There were about 20 athletes who participated. Two members of the Pratt High Faculty, Derek Liggett and Tyler Strong, accompanied the boys and lead by example as they worked to clean the area.

“I enjoyed helping out yesterday, and I hope we can find other ways to give back to the community as a team,”  said Noah Myers when asked about his experience.

“It really felt good to give back as athletes. We receive so much support from the people of Pratt, the least we can do is help out when we get the chance,” said Samson Kohman.

Thank you to these PHS athletes for helping out to make our community look its best. It’s a great day to be a Greenback.
