Southard Wins MSAA Titles
The PHS Junior Captured the 200M and 400M
Nate Southard was crowned a Mid-State Activities Association
champion Thursday. Southard won the crowns at the 2008 MSAA track
and field championships in Larned. The PHS junior captured the 200M
(22.91) and 400M (50.36). His 150-4 javelin throw landed him
second.
Pratt was third in the team competition with 60 points. Scott
City (157) won the team title. Ulysses (105) occupied third. Paul
Harris dueled, but couldn’t overcome . . .

Lady Frogs Fall in Regional;
“I Am Disappointed for the Girls,” said Forshee
One inning was catastrophic for the Pratt High School varsity
softball team in the 2008 KSHSAA 4A Pratt Regional championship
game Tuesday at Green Sports Complex. Colby used a seven-run fourth
inning to snap an 0-0 tie and go on to a 9-3 victory.
The win sends the 20-1 Eagles to the 2008 KSHSAA 4A state
championship in Salina May . . .

LMS, PHS Showcase Bands;
Chase Hageman Plays the Baritone Saxophone
Liberty Middle School seventh grader Chase Hageman plays the
baritone saxophone Tuesday night at the Showcase of Bands that
featured the LMS seventh and eighth grade bands and the Pratt High
School band.
