School Resource Officer
In collaboration with our Pratt Police Department, we added a School Resource Officer (SRO) to our team at USD 382. I am excited to have Greenback alum, Danny Gimpel, as our SRO. Not only is he a Greenback, he’s a stand-up community member with 10 years of law enforcement experience and works very well with kids. He even has a partner, his K9 named Fin.
We want to thank Chief Nate Humble and Detective Jeff Ward for doing the legwork on securing the federal grant, which allows USD 382 to benefit from the services of an SRO during the school year.
I believe Officer Gimpel will provide a consistent lowkey presence for our school buildings. We appreciate having the ready access to safety support at crowded events. Both we and the Pratt Police Department believe that developing a steady relationship between students and our local law enforcement community through an SRO will provide both short and long-term benefits to our kids and our community. Our SRO will take a student-centered proactive approach to safety and provide educational support.
