7-22-22 School Lunch Update
Greenback Parents,
This is an update for all parents regarding school lunch and breakfast services.
Student school lunches and breakfasts are no longer automatically covered by federal dollars as they were for the
2020-21 and 2021-22 school years. During that time federal policy and funding made lunches and breakfasts free
for all students. For the 2022-23 school year, students must qualify in order to receive free or reduced pricing for
school lunch and breakfasts.
We encourage our parents to take advantage of this resource and apply for free/reduced meal pricing. Again, you
will have to apply this year. A family could save up to $946/student during the school year if their child eats both
breakfast and lunch at school and qualifies for free lunch. If that same family has three children, there is only one
application for the family but the savings would be up to $2,838.
The application is online and easy to do. A QR code on this letter will take you to the application and it opens on
