Letter from the Superintendent

Parents,
This morning, we put LMS into Heightened Awareness for 10-12 minutes due to the report of a concerning statement by a student. The principal immediately contacted our SRO (School Resource Officer) and investigated the concern. It is now a disciplinary issue and we will respect the confidentiality of the student.
At no time was any student in danger nor was any weapon on campus. But, we take any concerning statement or report and treat it with an abundance of caution because the safety of our children is our first priority.
I want to take this moment to appreciate the trust you have in our Greenback family. We care about our kids and we will always keep that in the forefront of our decision-making process. In this age of social media, the calm our community shows is important because it allows our total focus to be on safety in the moment. This is important for any safety issue that could arise…weather, fire, etc.
